About My Classroom

Math has historically been a class where students view the teacher to be beyond approach and resentful of questions. I have worked hard to create a class where I expect students to question and have questions all of the time. Each day of class starts with questions from the previous day’s material. If students do not have questions, I will have some additional questions to go over. I encourage students to work with one another and provide the opportunities in class where they can work together. I chunk my lessons so it is not all lecture. I provide examples and will then walk around the room helping any students that have questions and posing questions to those that do not. I have students do problems on the board in order to better understand their thought processes and identify issues before assessments.  I encourage students to work with and use the technology, that is available to them in order to understand the material and topic better.
