Administrative Philosophy

I am passionate about the educational process and believe in making decisions based on data. I also believe that in order for decisions to be truly impactful and long lasting, contributions from many need to take place. Ultimately any decision made will rest on my shoulders and not everyone will be happy with every decision. The importance of listening to as many opinions and gathering as much information as possible is extremely important. I recognize that I do not have all the answers and may not be aware of all of the variables involved, therefore it is important to try to understand and gather as much information about a situation before a decision is made. I am and will always be approachable. I have an open door policy and will listen before speaking. I believe that the educational and learning process is an art form and that teachers and pedagogy are the best indicators of successful learning. Without great teachers nothing is possible. To accomplish great things and make the greatest impact, it is important for me to know and understand my staff. It is important to recognize their given talents and work with them to improve on areas of their instructional approach to become even better educators. It is important to build and establish those relationships because nothing I do as a leader will ever be accomplished by just me. It is, and always will be, a team effort. I believe in giving credit and recognition.
